The Daily Show (1996) : 31x118

Midterm mania continues as competitive races turn deep-red states at least a little purple. Ronny Chieng breaks down the headlines, including Trump professing his love for Sen. Tim Scott and celebrating his favorite presidential pastime: renaming bodies of water. Michael Kosta also comes to the defense of Maine Senate candidate Troy Jackson after Susan Collins critiques his family tree. When a new Trump scandal erupts, Chief Deniability Officer Sheryl B. Bahama (Grace Kuhlenschmidt) keeps GOP lawmakers blissfully uninformed, whether by whisking away Mike Johnson or helping Tommy Tuberville confidently say, “I don’t know.” Later, actor and comedian Jimmy O. Yang joins longtime friend Chieng to discuss his comedy special Finally Home, reconnecting with his Hong Kong roots, finding inspiration in his childhood diary, social media culture in China and the U.S., and their time together on Crazy Rich Asians and Interior Chinatown.
